So here’s a look at how we make some of the magic happen around here. These are the doors for the Credenza. Made from a combination of solid white oak and red oak crossties that we planked and air-dried.
We cut them into 3” wide strips. Planed them down, then joined them and glued them together.
It may look simple, but the direction of the grain and the location of the distress in each slat came into play. We tried to embed imperfections in each door and locate them so that they would be neutralized in terms of their structural impact on the door.
